Award Amount | # of Recipients
Five (5) scholarships are available during our fall 2021 season open from September 1 – November 30, 2021 for $500 each.

Applicant Requirements

Unique Hair Design-The School scholarships are open to currently enrolled students or those accepted into a cosmetology program in 2021-2022, leading to licensure.
Must be a US Citizen at the time application is submitted
In support of our commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging, for 2 of the 5 scholarships, applicants must identify as a person of color to qualify

School History

Unique Hair Design - The School is the first barbering school in Lancaster County. It opened in January 2015 and the Founder is Melissa Jones-Horton.

Melissa Horton has 35 years experience in the field of cosmetology and barbering and is licensed in both North Carolina and South Carolina.

What We Teach

Our dedicated professionals are individuals ready to share their own unique excellence in Geometric Design of Hair-Shaping, Relaxers, Press & Curl, and Salon Ownership and Management. Our scientific approach and educational goals, along with our knowledgeable staff, combine to create an encounter of a lifetime in your progression into barbering technology.
